Tools

Add Room creates a room at the tapped location and automatically switches to Connect mode.

Connect creates a connection between two rooms. The first room tapped is always FROM; the second room is always TO. The direction is determined by where you tap each room. A room may also be connected to itself.

In Connect mode, tapping a room and then empty space creates a dangling connection stub. The stub can later be attached to a room by tapping its free endpoint and then tapping the destination room.

Select lets you select and move rooms, or select connections for editing. A dangling connection endpoint can also be dragged.

Pan lets you move around the map.

Delete removes the selected room or connection. The button turns red while Delete mode is active.

Map Notes opens a free-form notebook associated with the map.

The map title is shown at the top-left of the screen. Click it to edit the title. The title is saved with the map and is also used as the suggested filename when saving.

Grid toggles the map grid.

Points toggles the connection-point circles.

Wrap toggles whether the toolbar wraps onto multiple lines.

Save / Load

Clipboard controls whether the RAW commands use the system clipboard automatically.

With Clipboard off, Save - RAW opens a pane containing the complete map data as readable JSON. You can select and copy it manually, or use Copy all. Nothing is copied automatically.

With Clipboard off, Load - RAW opens an empty text pane where you can paste or type JSON. Press Load to restore the map.

With Clipboard on, Save - RAW automatically attempts to copy the RAW JSON to the clipboard. Load - RAW first asks for confirmation before reading the clipboard and restoring the map.

Save JSON saves the map as a normal JSON file using the map title as the filename. Load JSON loads a JSON map file.

Connections

Connections support the eight compass directions.

UP and DOWN connections are marked with U and D at their respective endpoints. An UP connection has U at its FROM endpoint and D at its TO endpoint; a DOWN connection has D at FROM and U at TO.

One-way is an independent setting. It can therefore be combined with an UP or DOWN connection if desired. One-way connections show an arrow in the permitted direction. When a connection has a label, two arrows are shown at fixed positions along the connection.

Connection labels can optionally be slanted to follow the line. A slanted label can also be flipped 180° while retaining its slant.

Connections can be bent by dragging their middle control point.

A dangling connection has a free endpoint in empty space. It can have the same line, direction, label, and connection settings as an ordinary connection.

Rooms

Room names automatically wrap to remain within the room as the map is zoomed. The text itself remains the same screen size.

Rooms may be rectangles, rounded rectangles, diamonds, or circles.

Room notes are displayed left-aligned above or below the room.

Room text automatically changes to white when the room background is sufficiently dark.

Navigation

The map supports mouse/touch panning and pinch zooming.
